Jewish Vocational Services

Serving the widely diverse Southern California community, JVS Los Angeles helps people of all faiths and backgrounds overcome barriers to employment so they can become self-sufficient. Our clients include recently separated veterans, people living in poverty, at risk, foster and probation youth, the long term unemployed, people with disabilities and mature workers, as well as downsized career professionals. The Affordable Housing Clearinghouse is a network of lenders, community groups, and public agencies dedicated to the creation of quality affordable housing.

Promises 2 Kids

Creating a brighter future for foster children. Promises2Kids is a leading nonprofit organization originally founded over 30 years ago as the Child Abuse Prevention Foundation of San Diego County. Since 1981, Promises2Kids has responded to the needs of foster children and provided support to children removed from their home due to abuse and neglect.

At Affordable Living for the Aging, we believe in having choices for how we live as we age. ALA offers solutions for creating affordable housing and reducing isolation among seniors. We can go stronger and longer, if we go together.

Our mission is to provide safe and secure living environments for our nation's low-and-moderate income elderly population through the provision and administration of the nationally-acclaimed Senior Crimestoppers program. Funded exclusively by the banking industry, the Foundation enables banks a way to earn CRA credit through the sponsorship of this program in senior housing facilities, HUD communities, and Veterans homes in the form of community development loans, CRA-qualified investments, and grants.

The Pepperdine Microenterprise Program is improving our community by igniting a passion within the people we serve. We partner with transitional shelters in the greater Los An​geles area, providing their residents with an education focused on personal development, career development, and entrepreneurship.

Voices for Children

Voices for Children transforms the lives of abused children in San Diego County by providing them with volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs). We believe that every child deserves a safe and permanent home, and to that end, will review and monitor every court file in the system, provide a CASA to every child in the foster care system who needs one, and advocate to improve the lives of San Diego County’s foster children.

Our mission is to advocate for civil rights, provide legal services and education, and build coalitions to positively influence and impact Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders and to create a more equitable and harmonious society.

The Hollywood Police Activities League (PAL), a community-based crime prevention program, provides young people with positive alternatives to gangs and drugs. Through interaction with police officers in recreational, educational, athletic and fine arts activities, young people are given the opportunity to form healthy, positive attitudes toward the police, the society and the laws they represent.

Toro Guardian Scholars, also known as TGS, at California State University, Dominguez Hills is dedicated to supporting college students that have transitioned from the foster care system. We provide a unique program that connects students to a wide range of services and resources that will guide them throughout their educational journey. The objective of our services is to assist young adults as they continue to expand their educational and interpersonal skills on their path to becoming future independent leaders and role models within the community.

The Bruin Guardian Scholars (BGS) Program was created in 2008 by UCLA and student advocates to help address the unmet needs of the current and former foster youth at UCLA. The Guardian Scholars Program was designed to assist former foster youth, focusing on support services for undergraduate and graduate students. Additionally, this program guarantees a welcoming community for its members and primarily focuses on building a community with peers who have faced similar challenges in life. The UCLA Guardian Scholars Program promotes the academic success and well-being of current and former foster youth at UCLA by developing meaningful relationships with the BGS students, and by building partnerships with the UCLA community.

The Trojan Guardian Scholars program is committed to supporting current and former foster youth who attend the University of Southern California and to building a regional network that creates new pathways for college-bound students exiting the foster care system. Through providing comprehensive support services, the Trojan Guardian Scholar program helps enable students who attend the University of Southern California to experience the campus to its fullest and to achieve their goals of academic excellence, self-sufficiency, and successful professional careers in their desired fields.

To assist small businesses in the greater Orange County region to access capital to grow their companies and provide jobs through the state loan guarantee and other capital and business development programs. Emphasis will be placed on reaching out to and assisting minority, woman, disabled, and veteran owned businesses, as well as businesses in areas and industries of greater need.
